Biography

Valerie Henry is the Director, Non-Acute Care Services for Mission Development and Organization Engagement at The Joint Commission. In this role, Ms. Henry works with large systems and individual sites to guide and support their accreditation process while providing education and resources based upon their needs. These opportunities include organizations seeking ambulatory care accreditation for the first time or transitioning from another accrediting organization to The Joint Commission. She also engages with organizations as they plan for optional certifications such as Primary Care Medical Home and Advanced Orthopedic Certification.

Prior to coming to The Joint Commission, Ms. Henry worked for Athletico Physical Therapy as Market Development Manager for the southwest region of the greater Chicagoland area, developing key relationships to drive new market growth and brand awareness.
Ms. Henry has more than 20 years of experience working within the health care industry. She began her career as a Certified Recreation Therapist at a hospital-based inpatient acute rehabilitation unit. While there, she established the hospital’s Wellness and Fitness Center carrying out the hospital’s mission to improve the health of its community. More recently, Ms. Henry worked as a Business Development Manager for one of the nation’s largest physical and occupational therapy providers, where she identified new business growth opportunities and successfully implemented strategic plans that deepened client relationships and built new business.

Ms. Henry has a Bachelor of Science from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. She completed Situational Leadership® training, Athletico’s Leadership Development Program, and Robust Process Improvement (RPI®) Yellow Belt Training.linkedin.com/in/taldad
