Dr. Geoffrey Van Thiel is widely considered a leading expert in orthopedic knee and hip surgery with over 70 publications and 100 international presentations. Dr. Van Thiel attended UCLA Medical School (MD) and completed an MBA from the UCLA School of Business. He is currently a faculty member at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and the University of Illinois.  As one of the managing partners with OrthoIllinois, Dr. Van Thiel helped orchestrate the recent merger with Midwest Orthopedics at Rush resulting in an orthopedic group with over 100 providers, 250 million in revenue, and multiple ASC locations.
